Manufacturing Challenges & How RS Pigments Solves Them

Technical bottlenecks in laundry & textile detergents often result from pigment agglomeration, heat degradation, or resin interaction. Our refined inorganic formulations eliminate these issues.

0 1

Fabric Spotting and Blue Specking in Cold-Water Washing

Industry Bottleneck: Coarse pigment clumps and poorly conditioned particles do not break down in cold wash water, depositing as permanent blue spots on white cotton and synthetic fabrics.
RS Pigments Solution: Our detergent-grade ultramarine undergoes specialized air-jet milling and anti-agglomeration surface conditioning, ensuring spontaneous, uniform dispersion in both hot and cold wash cycles.
0 2

Degradation in Strongly Alkaline Detergent Formulations

Industry Bottleneck: Modern laundry powders contain high concentrations of sodium carbonate, zeolites, sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP), and alkaline peroxide builders (pH 10.5–12.0) that decompose organic bluing agents.
RS Pigments Solution: Synthetic Ultramarine Blue is naturally alkali-resistant (5/5 rating), remaining completely chemically inert in the presence of strong alkalis and oxygen bleach systems.
0 3

Cumulative Fabric Yellowing from Hard Water and Iron Salts

Industry Bottleneck: Over multiple domestic laundering cycles, white garments accumulate trace minerals and sebum, turning dull and yellowed even with high active surfactant levels.
RS Pigments Solution: Micro-fine pigment particles deposit uniformly between fabric fibers during the rinse cycle, physically neutralizing the yellow cast and restoring crisp, radiant optic whiteness.

Processing Guidelines

Dispersion, Dosing & Medium Compatibility

Recommended Dosing: 0.02% – 0.15% in laundry powders; 0.1% – 0.8% in laundry soap bars; 0.05% – 0.20% in textile finishing baths
Processing Temperature Range: Spray drying towers up to 250°C; wash cycles from cold 15°C to boiling 95°C
Dispersion & Milling Recommendation: Dry-blend into finished detergent powder after spray drying, or inject into slurry before spray-drying tower. For soap bars, add directly into the amalgator alongside soap noodles.
